Question
hi, i want to get a baby dwarf lop ear bunny, he is six weeks old. what can he eat? i was told he can only eat pellets until he is six moths old.please help!

Answer
Dear Kitty,

A baby who is six weeks old is too young to be weaned, so please read:

But once he's eight weeks old, he can be introduced to all types of food, as long as the additions are made gradually so his intestinal flora can adjust and you can avoid intestinal upsets.  Here's an overview of a healthy rabbit diet:

As you can see, pellets are a very *minor* part of a healthy diet, with grass hay being the #1 item for overall health.

I hope this helps.  Good luck with your new pal!
