Breeding Flemish Giants

Question
Hi Dave,

I actually have 2 questions.

1. We are new to breeding, I have done a little research and found many conflicting answers. I want to make sure that when we are breeding we do not breed the wrong colors together. Should we always breed the same colors: white with white blue with blue ect. or do you mix a blue with a black every couple of generations to keep the color?

2. Food: again in my research I have noticed conflicting info. We are feeding pellets and Timothy hay. I have read that we should also feed veggies and some fruit. The breeder I purchased the rabbits from said that she lost several rabbits when she tried veggies? what are your thoughts?

Thank you so much for your help!!!

Jennifer

Answer
hi Jennifer its not important to change colors but if you are showing them always stick to the same color

do not feed veg or fruit as the pellets will give them all the nutrients they require , hay is good and they must always have water to drink.
