Question
I have a staffy bull terrier and a few minutes ago it got into the hutch and bit my rabbit. He's about 4-5 and I cant get to him, i'm worried i might stress him out. Hes huntched up at the back of the hutch shaking, i cant afford a vet!!!!! WHAT SHOULD I DO???

Answer
Dear Izi,

If you want your rabbit to survive, you must get him out of the hutch (DO NOT let the dog be nearby at any time you are handling the rabbit) and at least examine him to see how badly he is bitten.  If it's a vfery slight flesh wound, you might be able to simply disinfect it with dilute povidone iodine from the drug store.

But the bunny is probably also in shock, and this means that you MUST get him to a vet, no matter the cost, if you want him to survive.  You may be able to work out a payment plan with the vet.  But there is no way I can tell you that you can handle this yourself.  The bunny needs immediate, emergency veterinary attention, or he may die.

I hope you can find a good rabbit vet here:

and get him there immediately.
