Question
Elizabeth
I do not give my bunny any treats, he will not entertain them.  The only thing he has, is his Super Rabbit Excel food and hay.  I starved him for 24hours and there was no dihorrea but as soon as he eats it goes straight through him.  Ciould you reccommend another food for him.
Many thanks

-----Question-----
My dwarf rabbit is 1year old, and living indoors at the moment. He has diarrhea at the moment, which comes and goes.  Do you think he is seriously ill?  I give him Super Rabbit Excel food.
Many thanks
-----Answer-----
Hi Tina,
diarrhea is a serious condition in a rabbit as they could become dehydrated quickly and become seriously ill.  If the condition seems to come and go, it could be something she's eating.  Don't give her any treats, especially lettuce, and make sure she has plenty of fresh water at all times. If she continues with diarrhea for more than 2 straight days without any treats, then I recommend having her seen by a vet,to check for other causes.
 Good luck,Elizabeth

Answer
Sorry,I called him a she!
I would go with regular rabbit pellet food, and try a rice snack with no added salt or sugar. They actually sell them in the baby food isle in the grocery store, buy the one with no flavor, just regular.  I'm sure this will be enticing to your rabbit and will cure the diarrhea.  If after this,he still has the runs...have him looked at by a vet,but try the rice snack first and give it a couple days. good luck,Elizabeth
