QuestionWe have two female mini dwarf lopp rabbits, one is almost blind. Have had since 7 1/2 weeks and now about 4 1/2 months. About a month ago, one started being dominant with the other ie mounting and then chasing/little fighting. So we separate them for nights and days and only let them play together when we are around. Anyway for about 4 days there was no mounting, so were were letting them sleep together but still keep separated during the day, but now the one with with poor eyesight has started mounting the other one, so we're back to watching them again and not letting sleep together. They still groom and lay down together though, but we're seriously thinking of finding another home for the normal sighted one and keeping the almost blind one. Any suggestions?
AnswerDear Claire,
Having both bunnies spayed will not only reduce their aggression and dominance mounting, but will protect them from their very high risk of uterine cancer. They will be old enough soon, so please find a rabbit-savvy vet here:

who can help you plan this surgery. If the two play together without fighting, do not permanently separate them. They are likely bonded, and would grieve terribly if separated. Just having them spayed will help calm them, and then they can be carefully bonded for a permanent, happy life. I can send more tips on that, if you need them.
