Deformed genital area of a 1 week old kit

Question
My dutch doe gave birth a week ago to 4 beautiful, healthy kits. After a couple of days we got them out to check they were all okay and noticed that the runt had something wrong with its genital area and we sought advice from many breeders who reccomended we see how the kit developed and whilst he was otherwise healthy to leave him with mum as she was his best chance if surviving. We've done that but as he's grown it's begginging to look like he has his poo and urine holes on each side of what looks like his tail, which is also too far under his body. He's urinating and is growing at a good rate, and he's the liveliest of the litter. I was wondering if you had ever heard of something similar, and wether we should take him away from mum and to the vets even though he's otherwise healthy? Thankyou.

Answer
Dear Hayley,

If your little bun is surviving and thriving despite this congenital anomaly, then I would let him be.  Let him grow and develop and at least be weaned before you take him to the vet.

If you can take a very clear, close-up picture and send it, I might be able to better visualize what's going on. But if he's eating, pooping and acting normal, then he might be just fine despite his deformity.

I hope he will be fine, and that the whole family will do well.
