12 year old rabbit

Question
I have a 12 year old rabbit that seems like overnight lost all mobility in his back legs and his right front leg. We took him to the vet and they put him on an antibiotic and prednisone and he seemed to be doing better for a week and them yesterday morning he once again lost all mobility in all legs and is scooting himself around. I took him back to the vet and they have him a shot in his back to help him and its now 232 am the next morning and he still has not been able to use his legs and is still scooting around. He's eating fine but its killing me to see him like this. I have to constantly move him around so he doesn't lay in his own urine and droppings, my question is what else can I do to help him get moving somewhat better. And how long do I give him until there is no other choice but for me to have him put to rest. That kills me to ask but I can't stand to see him like this. He's the sweetest rabbit around... Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thank you

Answer
Hi brandy when you know that all rabbits are classed as adults at 5 months old, you have a very old rabbit and it seems to me his organs are in meltdown mode.
He may have had a stroke which is common in rabbits .
The vets must realise what is going on and I would have thought they would tell you what it's chances are.
Go back to the vet and say its not getting any better, then take heed of what he says.
Dave.
