4 week baby having diarhhea

Good day Doc,

Our 35 days baby bunny is having diarrhea, we took her to the vet in philippines this morning. He said the baby have e-coli, and gave us COTRIMOXAZOLE 200mg/40 mg per 5ml Suspension Antibacterial. Taken orally 0.1ml twice a day for 1 week. And Benebac gel 1/2 of the tube, once a day..

Is it safe?

Unfortunately their mommy past away a week ago from  GI Statis and impacted feces. She was injected amoxicillin and vitamin B only. We won't be seeing the vet anymore.

I don't know how updated our rabbit vet here, but 1 thing I could surely say is that its very very very hard finding a savvy rabbit vet here. As we've been to 6 different vets already.

Dear Lhucky,

Your vet is pretty good to suspect this might be E. coli.  It is not uncommon in babies who are weaned too young.  I am sorry about the mama.
