QuestionDear Dana Krempels,
i have 2 rabbits 1 netherland dwaf and 1 standerd. i live in new south wales, sydney and recently have noticed massive amounts of hair loss on my netherland dwaf.when it comes out it's in clumps and skin is attached to the hair. the patch of skin where it has been falling out is crusty, flaky, red and has some cuts on it i am extrmly worried.
can you please give me some advice on what i should do
Clementine
AnswerDear Clementine,
This sounds like severe mange, and it can easily and safely be treated with Revolution/Stronghold (selamectin) from your vet. Please read:
www.bio.miami.edu/hare/furloss.html
and find a good vet here:
www.rabbit.org/vets
There is a link to international vets where you should be able to find someone in your area.
I hope this helps.
Dana
