Boar problem

Question
I have two pot bellies, which we love dearly. Pixie is my female and Pugsley is my boar. We seperated them after we breed them and are still apart because we don't want babies again. My question is: Ever since they have been apart he has tried to "mate" with everything from his hut to the soccer ball and we noticed there was a good amount of blood on these certain items. Should I be concerned? Or is this something that happens with males that aren't nuetered?

Answer
An unaltered male will "hump" anything and everything. If you are seeing blood, he may be "humping" something that is causing an injury. This could lead to a serious infection, and should probably see a vet.
I strongly recommend neutering Pugsley. There is a list of vets that accept pot-bellied pigs here http://www.petpigs.com/nainpage.htm
or contact www.pigsaspets.org
or www.dutchessfund.org
Two weeks after neutering you can put Pugsley back in with Pixie, I'm sure they'll be happy to see each other again! :)
