Questionyou have been so helpful in the past...thank you...our one year old Penelopig has VERY dirty ears...in the past I often just took a damp paper towel and gently swabbed them...I have been a bit remiss and it has been several weeks since I last did them...they look extremely dirty..any suggestions...thank you in advance kass
AnswerPigs have very narrow ear canals. Never flush a pigs ears, as this will cause temporary deafness. Also, cleaning can accidentally push wax back in towards the ear canal.
Just keep cleaning them the way you were before, staying towards the outer parts of the ear and away from the inner ear. The wax build up lower down will slowly work its way out. Clean them once a week or so, and after a few weeks they'll be clean again.
