Question
hi I am writting because I need to know what all I can feed willy and all kinds of toys to give him cant find much on here as what to give him every day to eat other then the pig feed and should he have starter or finisher food ever deay

Answer
The best food for a mini pig is a good quality mini pig food. Mazuri and Mana Pro are two national brands. Your local pet shop might carry a different brand.

The ingredients inside the bag are more important than the name on the outside. Choose a food with wholesome ingredients high on the ingredient list - oats, wheat etc. Avoid foods that contain antibiotics or animal products. Look for foods that have 4% or less fat, and 14% or less protein.

The general rule of thumb is 1/2 c mini pig food per 15 lb of piglet, and about 1 cup of food per 50 lb of adult pig. Break this down into two or three meals (for example, a 50 lb pig should get 1/2 cup for breakfast and 1/2 cup for dinner).

Piggy can eat anything that humans eat - but humans eat a lot of things we shouldn't! Good treats for piggies include fresh veggies and fruits, or wholesome cereals like Cheerios.

Piglets often like to play with toys intended for human infants, particularly toys that make noise. Used baby toys are often available super-cheap at garage sales and flea markets.

Food and toys are also available over the internet, from www.rossmillfarm.com and www.pigstuff.com
