Question
QUESTION: Hi, I recently purchased a potbelly pig... BTW he was 4wks and 5days old when we bought him and he just turned 7wks old today... we bought him some mini pig chow (even though he is not mini) because the breeder said it keeps them from getting so big but he will not eat it! I even tried regular pig feed and it won't work... so we started feeding him bread, cat food  (which the vet said is not recommended for all the salt and also can cause stones) and grass is all he will eat... we have also tried canned veggies but he wont eat it... what do you recommend?....

ANSWER: Hello,
First I must say shame on the breeder who sold you a 4 week old piglet that wasn't weaned properly yet!
Please go to the Royaldandie.com web site and then go to their product page.
they have an excellent Starter chow for piglets.
I'm sure this will work for you.
where did you purchase your piglet.  Others need to know not to buy one that young!
They need to be at least 7 to 8 weeks old and very well weaned.....which means they need to eating piglet chow for a couple of weeks before they go to their new home.
Hope this helps,
Patty

QUESTION: Hi, thanks. But until I find some cheaper will bread, grass, and keep trying vegies cause that is too expensive... would not be as bad if it wasnt for shipping lol... and can you recommend any veggies that he might really like... and do you think he might like fresh veggies better than can veggies... also which veggies are bad for him lol

Answer
He needs special feed right now so he will developers properly.  He is really two young for all the things that you are trying to feed him.
You will probably spend more money and time trying to find things that he will eat at his young age than what you will spend on the proper feed for him.
Probably should have educated yourself a bit more before you brought him home.
