pet rats not drinking

Ok so two days ago i got to little rats from the pet store and they are great but they seem to not be drinking and i have changed the water out of the bottle every day and there seems to be no water gone each day. But otherwise there great so can U please help me

Hi Kelly

Some rats drink like crazy and some dont. You may not think they drink but they probably do.  Take the bottle down and put the nipple in front of them and see if they drink it.   Also, test the nipple of the bottle and tap it to make sure the ball is not stuck and water is indeed coming out. You should do this everyday anyhow because those little metal roller balls tend to stick and water cant come out right.

Also make sure your not adding anything to their water like vitamins. Sometimes this will make the rats not want to drink too.

Just to be safe though, offer them water in a dropper and see if they take it or not.
