Found baby rats

Question
I know this probably isn't a case you would take on because these rats are wild, but I have four baby rats, still with their eyes closed, two of them eating milk, and one of the bleeding from the mouth. Is there a vet to recommend or will he just tell us to not try? They are simply harmless it seems, and I don't have a heart to not try and help them live. Help!

Answer

I have kept and raised wild rats before and when hand raised they are just as great as domestic rats.

I hate to say this though but if their eyes are closed, chances of them surviving is low. They need alot and I mean ALOT of care.  They need soy formula (not milk) from a dropper. They need kept super warm using a heating pad and you need to stiumlate them to urinate and defacate or the toxins will back up in their system and they will die.

I get a least one letter a weak like this and someone right now has raised them to the point their eyes are now open which is a miracle. We are trying to find homes for them when its time to wean them since they cannot be released to the wild once they are hand raised.

CHeck out this site to learn everything on trying to keep these pups alive. DO NOT worry about disease. You wont get anything from them.
I cross my heart, and swear to you!

Please let me know where your located so I can see what you have to work with as far as turning them over to a vet or wild life rehabber.
