Question
Hello Janell.
I am doing a persuasive speech on why Euthanasia is inhumane.
If you have any information it would be a great help.
Thanks,
Ricky

Answer
Although I'm not as zealous as some "Freedom or Death" advocates; and I certainly don't think euthanasia is ALWAYS the answer when an animal is sick or older, I'm not against euthanasia nor do I think it's inhumane in it's entirety. I think that there can be inhumane methods of euthanasia, such as the heart-stick without use of anesthesia, bagging and freezing small rodents, bleach fumes, etc. -- but sometimes euthanasia is the only option and it can be done very quickly, very simply, and very humanely.

The inhumane methods I mentioned above are inhumane for very basic, very obvious reasons: they all cause intense pain and intense fear.

That being said I don't think a persuasive argument can be made for euthanasia being blanketly inhumane. In some circumstances, it is VERY humane.

Good luck with your speech.
