I need some advise on my pet rat! Its urgent!

Hay,
My rat was due to have babies yesterday, and when i came home from my lunch break, I saw that there was quite a bit of blood on her bedding, and her vaginal opening was quite wide and open, and slightly blue.
But there was no babies!
I left her in peace, and went back to work, thinking i'd come home to lots of baby rats! But it's the next day now, and still no babies, her vaginal opening has gone back to normal, and there's no more blood!
Could she have tried to birth, and then got too tired and decided to hold them back for another day?
Or maybe it was just pre-bleeding =/
Would she have eaten them all? Without me knowing?
I mean, she's got the most amazing temperament! she's calm, loving and we always thought she'd be a great mum!
She's always the one who looks after the rest of her cage mates!
She's in a separate birthing tank now too,
Could you shed some light into whats going on?
I did check her belly, and it hasnt got any smaller i don t think.

She needs to see a vet as soon as possible. The babies may be lodged in there.  This not only can kill any pups but can kill the mother rat as well.

Please get her to an emergency vet that sees exotics. If you need help finding one in your area let me know. I can find sources even in the UK.
