Question

Tudy
Me and my vet have decided to nebulize medication f or my rat. She is very very ill with respitory problems and we have tryed every thing.
He sent me home with a bottle of gentaved 100 (gentimicin sulfate) a prescription for albuterol sulfate .083% to add to my liquid baytril 10%. And told me to follow the recipe that you have on your web site.
I have never nebulized anything and it is pretty confusing to me.
the vet is closed and I do not think she will make it through the weekend w/out meds.
If you can tell me just how many mls of each to put in the cup I would appreciate it. I am guessing the 3 after the saline means to fill the cup up to three with saline?

Answer

How much did he tell you to use for the baytril and albuterol?

For Baytril 10mg to 1 mL normal saline.
For Gentamicin 5mg to 1 mL normal saline.
.2cc albuterol 2 cc normal saline

Remember, the .2cc is just a tiny bit as compared to using a full 2ccs of saline. You want to use more saline with the albuterol than you do with the antibiotics.
