Weird Behavior

My rat is acting extremely weird! Its really getting me nervous. It happened in a matter of 5 minutes. He was fine and now he is skittish and wont let me hold him and he runs and hides. When i go near his cage he goes crazy and runs around so i wont go near him. When i touch him he is just rigid and doesnt move. He also wont take any treats from me. He is just sitting in his cage not moving at all. Please help soon!!

 It may be something as simple as fear; maybe he smelled something or saw something that frightened him.  If so, he should be fine after a little while.  If the behaviour continues it may be due to a stroke or seizure or other neurological problem and he should definitely see a vet.  When a rat changes their behaviour drastically for no apparent reason it can indicate a health problem, so a vet visit is definitely a good idea.  Other than that I'm afraid I can't offer you too much more help without actually seeing him.  I hope he gets better soon!
