Female rat loosing weight, and acting disorented

Question
My Female rat whos about 2 years of age, is loosing weight fast, and ive noticed in the past week that shes not been able to hold her food with her front feet like she use too.  Today when i came home from work to get them outta the cage to run, she was unable to move about with out falling to the side or just going in a circle, ive been trying to get her to eat but she acts like shes wanting to eat and nibbles on it, but seems to curl into like a ball and fall over.  There are no exotic pet vets in my area that i know of.  Does anybody know what these symptoms seem to be like.  She acts like with in the past day she may of had a stroke .  Is there hope for her ?

Answer
it sounds to me that your rat is on the edge of going to the Rainbow Bridge so to speak, it is more likely old age. If you can find any vet, it might be time to relieve her of her suffering. Sorry if this sounds blunt, but 9 out of 10times this is the reason for rats to lose weight and not being able to move normally, just like in people old age has its own effects. Even if some rats live to 3-4 years, most still pass around the age of 2.

sorry I can't be much help here.
