Rat is not herself

QUESTION: My Rat Trixy is not acting herself? I first noticed this Friday around 6:00pm. It's hard to explain but if you knew how she acted you would know this is an unusual behavior for her. She just sits in one place in her cage and stays there with her eyes half closed. She is still breathing but her breathing is, I would say a bit different. She barely ever moves to another spot. She won't eat or drink. If I pick her up she usually crawls onto my shoulder but now she just stays in my hand and looks like she is frozen and shivers. Then when I put her back down she fell over to her side and stayed there. So I put her straight and tried to make her as comfortable as possible, petting her and making her warm.I checked her this morning (Saturday) at 7:00 and she was still breathing. She is defiantly NOT acting herself. Is she sick? Is she pregnant? Is she dying? I don't know what to do!

ANSWER: what part of Colorado are you in ?   She needs a vet right now and fast. She is very sick. I can give you names of vets that treat rats but you have to go with her right away in order to save this rats life.

QUESTION: Lafayette. What sickness does she have? We don't have the money for the vet what should I do? But could you please still let me know the names of the rat vets. Around 8:45 I tried giving her water and she drank lots. Then she decided to go back into her hut but she still has that stiff, wobbly, unbalanced movement to her. How long will it take her to die?

Answer
I cant tell you what sickness she has without seeing her. It could be pneumonia. Its impossible for me to know this without seeing her and impossible to give her a time line for her passing again without knowing what is wrong with her.
