Question
I have 2 cockatiels and 2 keets that I put into my patio cage together during the day,,,at night they go back to there own cages inside... I am thinking about getting a parrotlet, and was wondering do they get along with tiels and keets in large cages.

Answer
Hi, Lee.  Thanks for posting!

It just depends on the personalities of the individual birds involved.  Some different species get along together in the same cage, some don't.  How big are the cages?

I don't recommend mixing different species in the same cage/aviary to begin with, especially if they have different dietary requirements (unless you can meet all dietary requirements in the one big cage).  Also, many keets like to pick on cockatiels, so watch for this problem.  In addition, parrotlets can inflict more severe injury to tiels and keets (if they get into squabbles) because their beaks are larger even though they are small birds.  This would be another reason why I wouldn't recommend housing all these species together.
