Question
Hello Dianna.
I have just bought a budgie around 6 months that is semi tame,in the shop he got on my finger...
I have another budgie under 6 month that is tame.
My question is...
The cages are in the same room but a little distant from each other, will the new budgie bond with my other budgie?
I would like him to become fully tame just like my other budgie but im worried that might not happen because he may be distracted during training e.g they are calling to each other as we speak.
Please help me,
Jordan

Answer
Hello Jordan and thank you for your post.
Your new Budgie should be quaratnined from the one that you already had for at least 30 days.  This helpsensure that if there is any kind of illness it will not be passed on to each other.  It also helps the new bird get aquainted with its new home.
After the first week you can start working with your new friend.  After the first 30 days, your birds can be put into the same room and slowly introduced in seperate cages.
This should allow time for you to get your new friend tamed down enough, then when you start training each of them, take them one at a time into a seperate room, away from the other one and away from the cages to work with them.  THere will be less distraction this way.

Good luck and God Bless.
