Senegal parrot behavior

Question
Hello, I am trying to figure out the meaning of a behavoir my parrot does. He (?) holds his wings out and low, and makes a soft chirping sound. He will do this when I hold my arm out in front of me. He perches on my arm and moves side to side while chirping.  He use to do this for both my wife and I, but now he does it only for me. I am not sure what reaction he is looking for from me. He doesn't seem to want scratches, but it definitely seems a sign of affection.  Any thoughts on this behavoir ?
Thank you
Greg

Answer
Hello Greg,

I'm sorry it took so long to reply.

From what you're saying, it does indeed sound like a sign of great affection. Usually when they do this it is followed by them regurgitating for you, which is actually the ultimate in flattery, hah!

It seems that he's chosen you as his favourite, or perhaps you're the flock leader. In either case, he's really bonded to you, and this is his way of showing you that.

You may find in the spring/summer, or when he's in the mood to breed that these behaviours will become more common, and he might add a few more... Perhaps even try copulating (mating) with your hand or arm. You shouldn't really let him do that tho, you don't want him thinking you're his mate in that sense of the term.

Sounds like you have one very happy Senegal there, who really loves you!! ^_^

If you have anymore questions, please feel free to ask.
