I was told at the paint store that Krylon H2O paint wouod be nfine for a bird cage..It's low on voc's latex...It has been drying foer 3 days but now Im reading all this about zink chromium and other stuff that might be in paint that couod be fatal to my bird....still waiting for a call from the manufacturer...keeping bird in other cage for now...have u heard of this paint???Is it safe if it dries for a week or so????? thanks in advance for your advice. --  I appreciate your caution and encourage it; however, in this case you shouldn't have to worry.

Once the cage is completely dry (depending on your environment it can take 3 days or up to a week) - it should be fine.

Be sure to provide plenty of chewing options for your bird and monitor the cage to be certain the bird isn't chewing on the bars, which is unlikely.

Climbing around by way of the bars is fine - what you don't want to see is actual paint flakes being in the mouth

So the bottom line is that you've done very well in your selection of paint - it is as safe as it gets - and it's time to get back to enjoying your companion with the assurance that you've been an excellent 'parent'
