my blue front amazon

hi i have a blue front amazon witch i just bought a week ago he doesnt talk or scream or make any noise at all how long till my bird starts to talk or whistle?

If you think about it, since this beautiful bird will live 45 to even 60 years old with ideal care, just one week is pretty early to expect any vocalizations other than perhaps screaming (which you've been very lucky not to have).

Hoping for much more than this is like expecting a baby just a few days old to talk with you.

 Your companion needs to learn a routine, become familiar with his/her new flock mates and then, most daunting of all, learn your language.  

It's truly rewarding and deeply moving to see how these wonderful creatures unfold as they become more confident and trusting.  There's nothing like a baby making their first noises, whistles and words.  Be patient though.  One of my in home rescues is turning five years old this summer and still only says maybe ten words.
  I barely notice .  She's got such a great personality and other ways of making herself known that it's ok.  She's a very good listener.
