QUAKER PARROT LAYING EGGS

Question
MY QUAKER PARROT IS IN HER CAGE ALONE AND HAS LAID 2 EGGS.  HOW DOES THAT HAPPEN WHEN THEY ARE ALONE.  SHOULD I REMOVE THE EGGS.

Answer
Hello Tim and thank you for your post.
Feamle birds do not need a male to lay eggs.  The males fertilize the eggs.  It is not unusual at all for a female to lay eggs without a male present, the eggs just won't hatch.
Let her sit on the eggs until SHE iether pushes them away or quits sitting on them all together.  She has an instinct to lay and hatch eggs, and if the first part of the instinct is not fulfilled, she may become an incessive egg layer, which would be harmful to her health.
Once SHE dicides that the eggs won't hatch, then it will be safe to remove and discard them.  As I stated, she will eithr push them away or she will quit sitting on them all together (usually in 28-30 days).

Good luck and God Bless.
