Question
My friend allows her bird to eat, drink and sleep with her. Also she has the bird on her shoulder all the time where it poops constantly. This is sickening when you look at her and all you see is poop! Can she get a disease from the bird eating and drinking from her mouth?

Answer
The bird is more at risk than she is.

It's not suggested that this sort of thing is done because the human mouth is loaded with bacteria.  Some of these bacteria can be very serious infections for a bird.   And just because any amount of time might go by without any problem, doesn't mean that one day it won't "all of a sudden" happen.  When this occurs it may be so serious that it involves hundreds of dollars in vet bills; and even then, it may not have a good outcome.

If your friend truly loves her bird - she will immediately stop putting it in harms way by feeding it like this.

As for the poop - only if it becomes so dry and dusty that she might inhale particles of it, does it really pose a health threat to humans.  That and if by any chance the bird has a zoonotic disease (zoonotic meaning it can cross species lines), which isn't terribly common.
