Question
Good Morning Sir,
I hope everything will b fine overthere. This is my 10th email to
allexperts n i m highly thankful for every kind of information that u
ppl r sharing with us.
This time i m facing problem with my 5 months old African Grey (Timneh).
I purchase it from a local breeder 3 months ago when it was only of two
months. I handfed if for 2 months. Now it has started talking.
my timneh spoke it's first word at the age of only 5 months. Now the big
problem i m facing is that this parrot is biting me v hard. It is a
well tamed bird, everytime i open it's cage it quickly run towards me
n start biting my hands, feet, arm n evrey part of my body, when i go
away from him to avoid his biting , he ran towards me n starts biting again.
(remember that his biting is not because of fear or anger, he just loves
me n never remain away from me). But i m really worried bcoz i can not let
timneh to bite me. what can i do??? i tried to give him safe wood but he
just refuses to cut it. (i keep him out of the cage for half hour in the morning
and half hour in the evening. Now plz suggest what should i do?? Should i
allow him to taste my blood??????????     2nd Question: Sir my second question
is that i have also Love Birds, i want to ask u that there is only one
purch in the cage of a single pair of love Birds, some ppl r of the view
that there should be two purches nearly to each other so that the bird
can breed easily. What do u think about it????
Thank u v much for giving ur precious time to me.
Wish u all the best.
Good Bye.

Answer
Hello Shani and thank you for your post.
It sounds like your bird has you a bit bullied.  You are afraid of him, and he knows it.  By your backing away from the bird, you are showing him that you are afriad of him.  You ca try using some leather gloves when handling him, but be careful as the gloves might scare him.  You do not want him to be afraid of you, but using the gloves will keep you from getting a nasty bite.

Good luck and God Bless.
