Question
At what age do baby African Grey's complete their weaning process ? I mean at how many months of age should I buy an African grey baby ? Please reply.

Answer
hi. thanks for your question.
the average weaning age for an African Grey (Congo African grey i am assuming you mean...they are the more common domesticated Grey) is about 12 weeks (3 months of age).  i have heard some estimates go from 9 weeks to 16 weeks so 12 is about right in the middle.  it is always better to err on the side of caution and go with the longer estimate.
if you plan to purchase your Grey from a good reputable breeder, they will not sell you an un-weaned chick so you will not have to worry. they will wait until the chick is properly and adequately weaned before placing the bird for sale. some breeders will allow you to choose the chick that you would like and then you can come and pick him/her up once they are weaned.
good luck and i hope this helps!  alicia
