QuestionHI,
I just recently took in a wild baby mouse which was saved from a game of keep away from my three cats. I have had it for over two weeks now( it is now about 3 1/2 weeks old), and it has shown so much improvement. I have been following all the care instructions that I have read on your posts and others and they 100% are the cause of this little baby's survival.
But anyways, i was wondering if there was any way to introduce a cage mate to this baby?
I have been looking around at other questions but couldnt find an answer to mine. I know that males are aggressive with other males and some of the simpler rules but i didnt know the details for my case. I also didnt know if you ever mixed other species with them and got good results. ( i dont have any of the above but if they were the answer i would in a heartbeat!}
From seeing internet pictures i am pretty sure that my little one is a male, but even with this i hope that maybe he is young enough to add a friend in with him without getting another mouse pregnant ( one baby was enough!).
I dont want him to be lonely and i can always give him enough playtime or attention that another mouse could give him, so i wanted to ask if there was any way he could have a friend without injuring either mate.
Thanks so much for your time!
Hope my post wasnt too confusing!!

AnswerDear Rachel,
Unfortunately, males almost always fight, and often to the death. I would definitely not get a friend for him. It's a sad fact of being a celibate male mouse. However, with lots of love from a person, he can be a happy mouse.
I would also agree and not recommend any breeding, as at least the first generation of a wild/tame breeding is pretty crazy. I had heard this, and then it happened to me by accident (litter of babies appeared in my convent of all females! Wire cage.) and I found out it's true. And of course you don't want to catch him a friend; a wild mouse raised in the wild is generally miserable in captivity.
Have fun with your little wild friend!

PS Now I have to figure out why answers to similar questions don't show up in searches. It's hard to think of every possible key word.
