QuestionIs it okay to re-introduce a male mouse, the father, to his babies a week after they are born?
AnswerDear Sara,
It will probably be OK. But watch very carefully for about the first hour. Although adult mice are usually respectful of young ones, it is possible that he will assume they are not his, and want to remove them so he can have his own babies. I doubt this will happen.
However, if you do this, you will have another litter in three weeks! Are you sure you want that? The mother mouse would rather rest a month in between.
Good luck and be careful.
Squeaks,
Natasha
