Giving Orphan Baby Mice Formula

Question
Hi me and my fiance found two baby mice yesterday at a friends house and the lived through the first night. i fed them about every hour or two. I was wondering sine i can't buy any thing expensive if baby formula is OK to use and does it have to be soy or lactose free. Also they have hair all over they don't look like newborns but still very little. They seem to be happy and energetic.

Answer
Dear Leah,

The mice need kitten milk replacement or puppy milk replacement. People have used soy milk but it isn't recommended. Nothing from cows.

They must be fed a minimum of every two hours absolutely around the clock.

Please watch the videos at the addies listed in my profile (I'm on an iPad and can't copy the link here). I have learned much from them, so it makes sense for me to just send you there. There is also actually a do it yourself formula which has household ingredients (except I think it may contain goat's milk?). The recipe is in one of the videos.

Best of luck and health to the babies. Bless you for saving them.

Squeaks n giggles,

Natasha
