Mice not using Hidey

Question
When I cleaned out my mice cage which I keep my 4 females in I just rinsed all the nasty stuff out of the little plastic house they where using as a nest and put some of the old bedding back in with the new in it and now they just made a new nest on the bottom lv in a corner. I have them in a alcove in my room to protect them from drafts but it gets cold in here because I sleep with the window open and I don't want them to freeze they made a nest when it was all new bedding so why are they not using it now when I didn't even scrub it?

Maybe they were getting too hot in there or just decided they wanted a different area to nest.
Try putting a bit of food in there to tempt them. THere is not much else you can do on this score.

As for having your bedroom window open at night, and worrying about them, what about either covering the house at night with a blanket if its a tank or if its a cage a cardboard box (that way they wont chew it)with a towel over the top
