Agressive baby male

Question
I bought 2 mice both males, because this was all Petco carried. They are about 6-7 wks.The salesman assured me they would be fine together.Well I have  had to separate them because the 2nd day 1 had a bite mark on his back and the skin had been broken. It was healing and today the agressive one snuck in with the other and bit him again in the same place.I can see blood as well as some on his tail but it is not actively bleeding.Needless to say they are separated for good now.My question is should I leave this wound alone or put something on it?I have neosporin and a antibacterial spray for dogs but I wasn't sure if licking it off would hurt him.Thank you,Kim

Answer
Hi Kim,

Neosporin would work fine, though you would not need very much (since like you said - he'll probably lick it right off).  You can also gently swab the wound with betadine on a cotton swab, and swab it off again with a clean one - you can find it in the pharmacy section of most general stores.  It's an inexpensive and safe iodine solution and will disinfect the area.  It should be diluted to the color of tea; then you can just dip a Q-tip in it.

Maybe you should let the clerk know about male mouse aggression, so he doesn't tell other people the same thing he told you?  I'm glad they are okay for the most part though, and I hope the injured boy feels better soon.  :)
