QuestionHi again,I was just asking what can i find to replace cuttlebone because its very difficult to search and rummage through pet shops in asia for cuttlebone. So what can i find to replace it and is cuttlebone neccessary for hermit crabs?
AnswerDear Justin,
thank you for your question.
Cuttlebone or another source of calcium is absolutely necessary for the crabs, they need it to build up their exoskeleton. Crushed eggshells or crushed oysters are good substitutes for cuttlebone, the oysters are usually given to birds (pigeons).
I hope I was of some help to you
