Questionok well i bought a new crab from petco and it was my favorite crab an Indo crab but ounce i bought him...he had a painted shell andi know that their bad but my petco didn't have any bigger shells and i have 1 more other crab but its smaller.and i only have 1 shell for my other crab and none for my new crab and I'm worried because i put him in the tank and he ran straight to my plastic castle and dig straight down and hasn't came up yet so I'm assuming that he is molting. and i don't know where to get some natural shells that comes in packages. do you know where to get some shells?and he is medium size. plus i don't get it why my E is hanging around the sand allot more like I'm saying 99.9 percent more that the Eco earth.maybe its because he likes to hang out on the beach in the wild more than the jungle.
AnswerI purchase all my shells from Naples Sea Shell company and The Crabbage Patch.
I have had crabs in the past that had a substrate preference, I usually offer a bit of the other one in a container in the tank so they can get in it if they don't like what I'm using for the main floor.
