QuestionWe recently got a larger dwelling for our daughters(shes away at college) hermit crab and are using sand now, we also put some brown thing in the cage that has something to do with humidity. our crab ripped the brown thing apart and burried itself under it 3 days ago-i don't believe the crab has eaten anything out of the food dish since. how long can hermit crabs go without eating. i know its still alive as of this morning but my husband says don't bother it. our daughter will be upset if the crab dies.(even though shes almost 19!!) she got the crab in june(07).sorry to ramble on.
