QuestionHi, we just got three hermit crabs last week and it looked like one was molting. it was in the shell and would not come out. the crab was also soft and squishy. well this morning we found that it was dead. Would you know why it died?
AnswerHermit crabs are particularly fragile when they are molting. If you were able to determine that he was soft and squishy I would assume that you handled him very soon after molting, unfortunately the stress of this was probably more than he could handle. I'm sorry :(
