shell too small

Question
I have a hermit crab that is in a shell that is way too small for him. I mean, he cant even get his eye stalks in his shell. He just kind of tucks them between his pinchers when he "hides". I have provided him with many many shells of various shapes, sizes and colors. All of them are natural. He just doesn't seem to want to change. Is there any more I can do to encourage him to change? Thank you for your help!

Answer
The best thing you can do is offer a variety of shells. Rinse them well and place them mouth facing the ceiling and very wet inside. Rearrange the climbies in your tank. This will often prompt a shell change. However, it's really up to the crab, they can be so darn stubborn!
