where to put the cage

I just got my guinea pig and and trying to move his cage into the living room.  However, it is very sunny in there, and I am reading to keep them out of direct sunlight.  If they have a hidey house in the cage is that considered "out of direct sunlight".  How specific about this are they?

Hello Kathy and thanks for the question,

If the cage ALWAYS has a place that is shady (aka out of DIRECT sunlight) the GP will be fine. His house (even a opaque house like a Pigloo) will not get so hot inside even in direct sunlight as to hurt him.
