my piggy might have a problem

QUESTION: Please Help me my guinea pig is shedding alot is that something bad or is that normal if she has fleas or mice how do i check for them. PLEASE AND THANK YOU. THIS QUESTION IS VERY IMPORTANT THIS IS AN EMERGENCY. THANKS FOR HELPING ME.

ANSWER: Hi
if your piggy has long hair then she will be more likely to shed it.
I suggest bathing her in SELSUN shampoo or PRIODERM nit shampoo both of which are safe to use on your piggy.
Bath her in the shampoo leaving the lather on for about 5 minutes and being careful not to get it into her eyes.
Rinse off and make sure she is totally dry before returning her to the hutch. Some pigs enjoy a blowdry!
Repeat this twice a week for 2 weeks and see if there is any improvement.

she may not have anything,and guinea pigs dont get fleas they do however get lice and mites.
You can look through her hair for anything suspicious but unless she is scratching more than usual I would get a nit comb from the chemist. A little plasctic one will do fine they cost about 80p.
If you do find something lurking, follow the instructions I gave earlier xx
