Question
Ryan
we brought our son his first GP about 3-4 months ago now, the guy at the pet shop said that he was about 6 wks old when we brought him and that he handled him alot, now we have him in a glass aquarium as we have 2 cats and didnt think putting him in a wire cage with plastic bottom would b wise as we r afraid the cats will swipe at him, but as of late the GP has been running around like crazy bucking and almost bouncing off the sides of the walls tryin to calm him down by picking him up is impossible as he becomes abit cranky and trys nipping and bitting at us his also become hard to pick up. nothing has changed in his cage set up or his bedding or food i know when we brought him he was with atleast 15-20 other GP and he seemed happy do u think he needs a companion? and if so should it b M or F? what size and style cage should buy if we do purchase him a companion? thank u in advanced for any help u can provide us with.

Answer
Hello Loches Mummy and thanks for the question,

I would almost gaurentee that your GP is "ranting" do to a mite/lice infestation. Check his fur for small bugs and/or scabs and abcesses.

You can check you archived answers for the home treatment of this problem as it will save you a good dealof money.

Thanks and good luck,
Ryan

PS: Please treat him quickly as he is in pain and discomfort.
