possible ring worm

My child age 6 got ring worm (fungus) on his face by his chin. Where he held our guinea pig. Then a few months later my daughter 9 has a spot the same on her chest...where she holds "Herbie" too. I am putting the cream on her now that my son had. I took them to the doctor and they confirmed it was fungus. Herbie does not have any hair loss he eats normally and acts normal. He scratches here and there. Are my kids getting it from him? If I take him to the vet it will be a 100.00 bill. I dont work and money is tight. So I am treating my kids but we are not handling Herbie much right now. We ususally do.

hiya mercedes. ( love your name ) it probably is ringworm as it is very conagious. do not let your children near him but check his body for any hair loss or scabs wearing gloves. no not touch him. you need to take him to the vet to kill the ringworm as it may be causing him discomfort.
