Bossy Piggy!!!!

Question
I have two Guinea Pigs that are Sisters, however, I adopted Chelse a week before I I adopted Chloe.  Chelse is very outgoing and acts as though she own us.  Chloe is more timid and shy.  I most definitely belive that Chelse has determined that she is going to be BOSS! They play together wonderfully, running and popcorning about, and if I have one away from each other they squeak very loudly until they are put back together.  Here is the problem - Chelse doesn't seem to like to share most of the time and if she is in the cuddle chair or the pigloo and Chloe comes in at the same time she bites at her neck/back.  I do not know how hard she is biting, but there is no wet mark or a wound. She sometimes also does this just out of the blue no matter where they are.  It is very upsetting to me because I feel as though Chelse is being very mean to Chloe who just wants to snuggle or be by her Sister.  Is this ok? Should I separate them or do you think it well be ok?

Answer
Hi Suzy

If there is no evidence that chelse is hurting chloe I think it would be a bad idea to separate them. It just sounds a case of one pig being the boss of the other.

One of my males, Fraser runs the pigloo and doesnt let barney in sometimes.

As long as no harm is being done then I would leave them as they are and let me know if you experience an increase in hostilities.
