Bathing

Question
Can you bathe these cute, cuddly creatures? I am a new owner and researching as much as possible.

Hi Tammy, you can indeed bath guinea pigs.  I wouldn't recommend you give your pigs a bath every day though, or even every week.  Once a month at most would be enough for a pig and this would be a pig that gets a bit grubby, or has a very greasy grease gland or dirty bottom.  One every few months or so is best for your normal pig.  It isn't really necessary to give so many baths but it does help to keep them fresh and can maintain healthy skin and coat which therefore can regulate chances of skin or hair infections or infestations.  Take a look at my site cavycapers.com for tips on bathing under the health section tab.
