My old guinea pig

My 5 yr old called wardrobe has woken up with a very inflamed third eyelid on her left eye. I have cleaned it out with dilute boiled salt water, which removed some gunk. I am reluctant to take her to the vets in case they think it is just her age. Help please if you can.

Hello Katrina,
even though your guinea pig is a little old, the infection can be easily treated with antibiotics or ointment I believe. I don't think they will say that there's nothing they can do.
