Question
QUESTION: Hi

Me again!

I really need more help from you with Billy.
When I hold him he will sometimes just take these little fits where he will bite Eddie for no reason. He will bite me for no reason and he will try and run away and he will just start squeking really high pitch and then that scares Eddie a lot Eddie being timid enough as it is so he tries to get closer to Billy for protection and that makes everything worse!

HELP!!!!

Kelly

ANSWER: Hi Kelly

Can you describe exactly what happens with the fits?

QUESTION: Hi

ok I will be holding them both and they are getting along great then all of a sudden Billy will nip at Eddie and they will both raise there heads and look at each other and they will do that a couple of times so eventully I get really annoyed so I seperate them then Billy will start squeaking really loudly and high pitch and he will try run away and hide in my hair and meanwhile Eddie is trying to get to Billy and sqeaking really loud but not high pitch then I usully let him go see Billy to make him be quiet but when he gets to where Billy is Billy tries to bite him if he gets close to him and if I pet him when he is like this he will try and me too. So then I usully put them back in their cage because if I have them sepertaed Eddie is annoying but if I put them together Billy is nipping him constontly.

ANSWER: Hi

You have done the right thing in ensuring Billy and Eddie are not kept separate for too long.

Have you tried letting them run around on the floor together?

QUESTION: Hi

yeah they always go on the floor together and they are great, they get along in the cage, they get along great in the carrier I bought them for when they went to the vet and the carrier is really small. They only have problems when they are on me.

Why?

Kelly

Answer
Hi

Its quite difficult to say but it might be jealously if one is being handled and the other wants to be cuddled to.

The best thing to do is to try different scenarios. Pick Eddie up first or have both on you at the same time until you find something that works.

Andy

PS Sometimes these questions are difficult to answer because I cant see the behaviour for myself.
