Lice/Fleas/Mites on a Guinea Pig

My roommate just purchased two Guinea Pigs and I noticed little white bugs
crawling on them.  I own a dog and was wondering if the lice, fleas, or mites
that his guinea pigs have can be transferred to my dog?  I keep my dog on
flea medicine but I am concerned that if his guinea pigs have mites that they
can transfer to my dog?  Please help!

If its white things then its more likely to be lice than mites as mites cant be seen with the naked eye.

To be on the safe side try to keep the dog away from the pigs as lice and fleas can be transfered, at least till you get the lice treated, usually with a shampoo treatment.
