Weird hamster behaviour.

Question
Ok, lately my hamster has been acting funny. He used to be super energetic, but now all he does is sleep. He gets up maybe a few times to eat, but I haven't seen him on his wheel in a long time, and he hasn't been exercising at night. I tried putting him in his ball, so maybe he would run around then, but he just sleeps in that too. So, do you know why he is acting like this?

How old is your hamster? Sleeping very much is a sign of old age and some hamsters already begin to grow old with one year.  Of course, it might be an illness, but as long as there are no other signs, I don't think so. Or he's just bored, try changing some the toys in his cage evyr week or so, so that he has something new to explore.
